Though GTA 6 won’t launch until 2026, dedicated fans aren’t waiting around instead, they’re hard at work piecing together the game’s sprawling open world. Using clues from trailers, official details, real-world Florida geography, and a healthy dose of speculation, the mapping community is crafting detailed mock-ups of Leonida, Rockstar’s satirical take on the Sunshine State.
Redditor EliteFireBox recently shared the latest community driven map, updated after the second trailer dropped. This version incorporates newly confirmed landmarks, including protagonist Jason’s house and its surrounding buildings, as well as adjusted location names directly referenced in the footage. However, much of the layout remains speculative, with certain areas requiring “more triangulation data” due to unclear spatial relationships.
One of the subreddit’s moderators, kingofhearts67, emphasized that the map is still a work in progress: “The black outline is what we’re confident about, while the orange areas are speculative. Expect major changes as we pinpoint more locations.”
A key point of debate is whether Leonida will follow GTA’s traditional island-based design or feature an actual land border a theory fueled by hints in the trailers. For now, the fan-made map assumes an island structure, but that could shift if Rockstar introduces connected mainland areas.
The mod also noted that blank spaces on the map don’t necessarily mean empty terrain just a lack of evidence. “There could be hidden neighborhoods, side streets, or points of interest we haven’t spotted yet,” they explained.
With GTA 6’s release still over a year away, the community has plenty of time to refine their predictions. Until then, every trailer frame and Rockstar teaser will be scrutinized for clues because in the world of Grand Theft Auto, even the smallest detail could reveal a hidden gem.
